How to Replace broken ceramic tile

By Ceramic Design

 Replace broken ceramic tile
1. Using a putty knife or a chisel, knock out the grout around the tile to be replaced. With a hammer and screwdriver brake the tile and pry out the pieces.
  • 2. Clean out the area where the tile was so there are no pieces of tile or Adhesive left behind. Use Tile Adhesive and spread it on the back of the new tile and the wall evenly. Insert the new piece of tile carefully, making sure it is flush with the existing tile. Wait for at least 24 hours before grouting the tile.
  • 3. Choose a grout, the same type and color as the grout already existing. Grout around the new ceramic tile and clean up any mess. Let the grout set up for a day or so; especially if the repair is made in a shower or
anywhere that water or moisture will come in contact with the new grout or ceramic tile. If there are more than one tile that is to be replaced, just follow the same steps. It is also a good idea to use a sealant on the tile too.
