About Ceramic Rings
A new trend in wedding rings has taken the form of ceramics and has given men more options when selecting the ring they will wear for the rest of their lives. Ceramic rings carry many benefits over classic materials such as gold, silver or platinum. Aside from ceramic’s more affordable cost, its functionality and strength are some of its main attributes.
- Titanium carbide, or TiC, is also known as high-tech ceramic. It is used to make many forms of contemporary jewelry including men’s wedding rings. All carbide ceramics are known for their extremely high melting points; TiC melts at 3,100 C or 5,612 F. Other uses of high-tech ceramic include as plating for bullet-proof vests and in cutting tools and coating to prevent wear and tear. The material has also been used to partially form space-shuttle shields.
Safe and Comfortable
- If you are one of many people who suffer from allergies to metals, such as the commonly used nickel, ceramic rings may be a safer, more comfortable alternative to metal rings. Ceramic rings are hypoallergenic. While hypoallergenic materials are not guaranteed to prevent allergic reactions, by definition they decrease tendencies to have one. Ceramic rings are also comfortable due to their option for a “comfort fit,” which is a rounded inner surface that hugs the finger.

How to Replace a Ceramic Tile
Got a broken ceramic tile? Don’t worry, replacing a ceramic can be an easy do-it-yourself project. Here is a step by step guide on how to replace a broken or cracked ceramic tile.
Ceramic Floor Tiles

Remove the damaged ceramic tile. The most important part here is not to damage any surrounding tiles. Start by drilling several lines of holes into the ceramic tile. Use a power drill with a masonry drill bit. Be careful not to drill deeper than the tile.
After you have your holes drilled, connect them together with a cold chisel (masonry chisel) and hammer. Once the tile is split up, pry it up with a flat pry bar.

Using your cold chisel, remove any old mortar or thin set from where the old tile use to be. Be extra careful not to damage the other tiles in the process.

Vacuum the empty space out to remove any dust and debris. This will help the mortar adhere to the ground.

Using your notched trowel, spread an even layer of thin set mortar or adhesive to the floor. The notches in the trowel will help the adhesive flatten out when the ceramic tile is placed.

Center your new tile into the adhesive. Make sure it’s an equal distance away from the others to ensure even grout lines. If your tile is too high or too low, adjust it by removing or adding thin set mortar.

Place a block of wood over the tile and pound it even with a hammer.
Let the adhesive dry for at least 24 hours.

Fill in the cracks with sanded grout and level it with a grout float. Wipe any excess grout from the ceramic tiles’ surface with a wet rag before it dries.

Imported from South China, these ceramic pieces of pottery are made from white bisque instead of clay. Having this kind of a base to start with gives this piece an advantage when it comes to colorful and vibrant glazes. Each one is considered high quality yet traditional. Some of the finishes like the Copper and Bronze have great shine and sparkle. Our Jade and Oxblood red are traditional glazes with a lovely crackle finish.
